3. Setting an access point for a general area
In this example, the client wishes to provide wireless internet to 8-10 clients located approximately within a 1200ft radius from the base of his internet source, all with line of sight. His office houses the internet source, and currently, his computer is connected to the internet through a router in his office. From his office, all of the clients are located within 500ft of either direction (which translates to about 50 degrees horizontally).
For this solution, we choose to use 2 EOC 2610s. One could also choose to simply use 1 EOC 1650 and replace the 5dBi gain antenna with a higher gain one. That would easily satisfy the range requirement of this situation, but would also leave an unnecessary greater security risk. Since we only need to cover an angle of about 50°, 2 EOC 2610s will suffice (each EOC 2610 covers roughly 30° horizontally).
There is a small chance that having 2 access points side by side may cause unwanted interference. To ensure that the 2 access points do not interfere with each other, configure them to non overlapping channels.
