2. Making multiple bridges from one access point

In this example, there is 1 main building. This building has wired internet throughout. The client is looking to provide wireless signal to the 3 other buildings in a nearby radius. The farthest building is approximately 200ft from the main building.

Below is a diagram of the situation.

The easiest solution is to use 1 EOC 1650 at the main building. This unit will be connected to the internet source and will be set to an access point on top of the main building. Each of the 3 buildings around the main one will have an EOC 2610 set to client bridge mode to receive wireless signal from the main building. From there, you have several options:

  • Connect an ECB 3500 (indoor access point) the client bridge to provide wireless signal inside the building.

  • Connect a computer directly to the client bridge for wired internet access.

  • Connect an EnGenius gigabyte switch (ESG 8808R) to the client bridge, and from there you can have both wired internet (by directly connecting a computer to the gigabyte switch) and wireless internet (by connecting an indoor access point).
